Rufus Herman Peacock age 77 of Needmore died Sunday, July 15, 2012 at his home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 1:00 pm from the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with Reverends Lavon Davis and Mike Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing. He is survived by his sister Sara Reeder of Montgomery, two sisters-in-law Sara Peacock and Virginia Peacock of Needmore, niece Lynn Peacock (Mark) Little, nephew Dwain Peacick and greatnephews Taylor Peacock, Blake and Hunter Little, 20 other nieces and nephews and numerous other great nieces and nephews, special friend Betty Huff of Montgomery. He was preceded in death by his parents Rufus and Eva Powell Peacock, 6 brothers Kenneth, Raymond, Bill, Murrell, Sam and Milfred Peacock, 2 sisters Ruby Peacock and Selma Peacock Faulkner. He was retired from the Alabama Department of Transportation in Troy. Active pallbearers will be Mike Thomas, Tim Faulkner, David Sikes, Kenny Duncan, Blake Little, Chuck Peacock and Hunter Little. Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of the Alabama Department of Transportation in Troy.
